Scouting was founded by Lord Robert Baden-Powell in 1907 and is today both the largest and most successful youth movement in the world with over 28 million members.

2nd Kenridge is an Air Scout group but we cover all the normal scouting activities such as Camping, Hiking, Pioneering, Orienteering, First Aid, Outdoor Cooking and many more. We also try and incorporate air activities where we can. Unfortunately, this is an expensive exercise so we are not as active in the air as we would like.

Using the Patrol System we try to develop scouting skills as well as leadership, character and responsibility. The Advancement System is designed to challenge a scout as he grows older with scouting skills at different levels of proficiency. After completing each Advancement Badge he then begins the next until he completes his Springbok Badge. There are also many Interest badges which a scout can obtain. These are designed to recognise achievement in a variety of different fields.
